Sean very has been punished indefinitely by commissioner Gary Bettman for using a crude term about his former girlfriends now dating other hockey players. Bettman acted immedietly to keep Avery out of the Dallas Stars’ game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night. Avery’s inflammatory line came following a morning skate in Calgary, Alberta.
“I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada,” he said. “I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my (former girlfriends). I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.” He then walked out of the locker room.
Avery’s ex-girlfriend, actress Elisha Cuthbert of the television show “24″ is dating Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf; she had been romantically linked to Mike Komisarek of the Montreal Canadiens.

The New York Rangers announced that forward Sean Avery has suffered a lacerated spleen in Tuesday night’s Stanley Cup playoff game and will be gone for the remainder of the playoffs.
The Rangers said Avery was admitted to St. Vincent’s Medical Center following a CT scan and is expected to make a full recovery. According to the teams spokesman, Avery is in “stable” condition.
This is the last thing Rangers needed, losing the last game 5-3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden. The Penguins have taken a 3-0 series lead with the win.
Sean Avery, the notorious NHL prick, found another way to get under Martin Brodeur’s skin, and to honour his shitty behaviour,the NHL changed the rules.
Brodeur, the New Jersey Devils goalie, doesn’t resonate with Avery, the New York Rangers forward, whohas turned irritating other players into an art form. During a 5-on-3 power play in New Jersey’s 4-3overtime playoff victory Sunday night, Avery planted himself in the crease with his back to the action andfaceguarded Brodeur.
Holding his stick upward, Avery waved it side to side and up and down to block Brodeur’s vision in a
completely absurd new screening “method”. Brodeur gave him a shove, but that didn’t stop Avery. It’s just too funny really, we have to show the video.
