Brett Favre
Brett Favre is the only three-time AP MVP (1995-97) in NFL history and has led the Packers to two Super Bowls. Favre announced his retirement this year, ending a 17-year career.

The Green Bay Packers will retire Brett Favre’s No. 4 during the opener against the Vikings on Sept. 8. Raven’s QB Steve McNair Retires

Posted in NFL Football  by Sportsbook Bonus on April 17th, 2008

NFL football quarterback, Steve McNair

Steve McNair, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens has announced to his teammates his decision to retire. McNair has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was the Co-AP NFL MVP in 2003. McNair’s 3,590 career rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns rank fifth and third respectively all-time among NFL quarterbacks. McNair, who is 35 years old, led the Ravens to a 13-3 record in 2006, his first season in Baltimore after 11 years with the Tennessee Titans.

His decision to retire leaves the Ravens with two quarterbacks, Kyle Boller and Troy Smith. It also will increase the likely probability that Baltimore will be looking to acquire a quarterback in the NFL draft later this month.

Ten Top Prospects For the 2008 NFL Football Draft

Posted in NFL Football  by Sportsbook Bonus on April 16th, 2008

Jake Long

1. Miami Dolphins- Jake Long, OT - 6′7″ 320 lbs.- Michigan . A two-time All-American American football offensive tackle for the Michigan Wolverines. Very strong and versatile, Long makes a tremendous amount of sense as the number 1 pick.

2. St. Louis Rams - Glenn Dorsey, DT - 6′2″ 300 lbs. - LSU . The most dominant D-Lineman in the nation and a quick defensive tackle. An explosive performer from the inside, Dorsey is a great pick at 2.

3. Atlanta Falcons - Chris Long, DE - 6′5″ 285 lbs. - Virginia . In a choice between Long or Gholston, either is a great choice and will transition well to the NFL, but I have to give the advantage to Long. Long is a solid senior defender and has taken his game to a new level this fall.

4. Oakland Raiders - Vernon Gholston, DE - 6′4″ 260 lbs.- Ohio St . The Raiders have the talent to possibly make a playoff push, and Rex Ryan would utilize a junior edge rusher like Gholston to his full potential.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Sedrick Ellis, DT - 6′2″ 295 lbs. - USC . A dominant performer during his Trojans career, he is a great defensive tackle that can be a disruptive force in the middle.

6. New York Jets - Darren McFadden, RB - 6′1″ 220 lbs. - Arkansas. Proving yourself to be an elite all time back in the SEC is not easy, but McFadden accomplished this with ease.

7. New England Patriots - Leodis McKelvin, CB. He is a great athlete, scoring 8 touchdown on returns. The Pats have this solid pick up at 7senior quarterback

8. Baltimore Ravens - Matt Ryan, QB - 6′4″ 220 lbs.- Boston College . Senior quarterback Ryan would be a great addition to this franchise and Cam Cameron would build around his short passing attack.

9. Cincinnati Bengals- Ryan Clady, OT - 6′5″ 320 lbs. - Boise St. Flawless against WAC speed rushers this season, Clady has near to perfect form, he has smooth footwork, he ran traps and pulls with ease, and being a former defensive tackle he understands defenses.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Brian Brohm - QB - 6′4″ 225 lbs. - Louisville. This strong and experienced senior has the package to be an early NFL starter.
